www.sapphiredragonstudios.com/project/thesis/thesis_animatic.htmlI'm debating on some changes to make with the story, mostly at the very end. I think Cain's aggression at the end may come too quickly and/or not be intense enough. I may add more to it. The cat may show up more in the background throughout the story. But nonetheless, does it give a deus ex machina vibe? Or does it give a humorous and unexpected twist? I've heard some arguments that the Crystalin should burn down. There are a few reasons why I like and dislike that idea. Here's my view on it: If the Crystalin burns down, will that make the tone of the pilot too dark? Would it make for a more complete story, since everything comes full circle? Would it be too predictable of an ending? If it starts to burn and Cain has to put the fire out, that might make the length of the pilot unnecessarily long. The cat exists both to give a twist to the story and show a third dimension to Cyrus' character. Also, it ties in to the mission Cyrus talks about at the beginning of the thesis. I wanted to make Cyrus' mission non-violent, since that would place more of the responsibility of the fight on Cain. Is there anything different that could happen once they start fighting in the Crystalin that I should consider?
